Ten months old today

Hello everyone and Happy Fall!

First the most exciting news of the month! I am a big cousin – twice!! My Aunt Kristin and Uncle Mark’s twin boys arrived on September 25. Jack and Brian are happy and healthy! We are very happy for them all and I can’t wait to meet them later this month.

I am happy to report that we have finally gotten some cooler weather here in Texas. I wasn’t sure if Summer would ever end. Daddy says there are four seasons here – “Almost Summer”, “Summer”, “Still Summer” and “Winter”. That Daddy, he sure is funny! Speaking of Daddy, do you remember a few months ago I told you he wrote part of a chapter for a book? Well, the book is out! It is called Measure What Matters to Customers: Using KPIs – click here to see the book! I am so proud of him! My friend Ron Baker is the author. Also, another exciting thing about the book is that a picture of me is in it!! It is a picture from when I was born with Mommy and Daddy – it is used to illustrate a point about metrics. (You can ask Daddy to explain it, he is very smart, my Daddy!)

Another exciting thing that has happened is our friend Philip’s museum is completely funded. Look for the opening of the National Sports Museum as part of the revitalization of lower Manhattan. We are very happy for Phillip!

I have been on the go again. We went to Kansas City a couple of weeks ago. Daddy had work, and Mommy and I tagged along. It was really fun because our friends Brad and Britton live there. We got to stay with them and tour around KC. It was great! My Grandpap used to work in KC and there were lots of places he hung out that we went to – Grand Street Café and The Plaza (ok, Pap Pap did not hang out at the Plaza, but my Grandma sure did!). It was a great visit and I hope to see Brad and Britton again soon. We also saw our friend Alison when she came to Texas for work. We had dinner together, which was very nice!

I had to go to the doctor this month for my nine-month check up. I am doing great – still very tall – 96%, but my weight is catching up (20 pounds 4 oz – 40%). I had to get some shorts, but I didn’t even cry this time. Just a little yelp. Mommy and I are going to get flu shots this week, so I guess it will be more shots for me! I like to move around on everything and I love to stand up! When I stand, I can move too. Daddy calls is “cruising”. I can even go between the couch and the coffee table. My cruisin’ has not been without a brusin’ or two. There have been falls and even blood. Mommy is handling it pretty well (thank goodness for Daddy’s calm demeanor!) I continue to crawl all over the place, including up the stairs. I am working on down the stairs too, that one is a lot harder. Mommy makes me go down backwards so I don’t hit my head. I have a few other tricks too. I like to help Mommy “fold” or actually “unfold” the laundry. She likes that. I love the “Sean throw down, grown up pick up game” too. Gravity is an amazing thing. You know they put gates up all over the house? I am literally penned in like a little jail cell in the living room.

I went to the Dallas Zoo a few weeks back with my friends from Gymboree. I fell asleep, but still had a nice time. I also went to the pumpkin farm! We had a whole group of people – Mommy, Daddy, Grandma, Uncle Rich, Aunt Rachel, cousin Abbie, her cousin Christopher and her Aunt Sarah. Also, “Nannie” and “Granddad” were there too with my Lou Lou! Lou Lou watches me on Wednesdays, she is my cousin Abbie’s aunt and I LOVE her!! We always have such a fun time together! Mommy and Grandma took a lot of pictures. It was a little hot and they put me in my Halloween costume with a hood! I think it was made of polyester too … anyway, it was HOT! I am going to be a blue octopus for Halloween. I am very happy. I love all my tentacles, lots to put in my mouth.

We have lots of travel coming up this month. Next weekend I am going to Jacksonville for a Hawaiian Luau wedding reception! Our friends Rob and Anita were married in Hawaii in July and they are having a big party. I can’t wait – I love big parties. Then, the following week, we are going to NY for a week. We hope to see many of our family and friends up that way. We will spend some time upstate visiting my new cousins.

Me and my Daddy’s NY Mets made it to the NLCS! We are very excited and happy! Wish them luck.

Don’t forget to mark your calendars for my 1st birthday party – 4-8 pm, Saturday, December 9. You can come whenever you want; we will cut the cake at 5:28 pm (the minute I was born!).

Happy Halloween and talk to you next month!
xoxo, Sean
