I am 56-months old today

jumping in the pool Well, I can hardly believe another month is “in the books.” And it sure has gotten hot down here in Texas. (Which, by the way, I can locate on the map! I love maps and am learning where all sorts of places are!) With temperatures in the hundreds pretty much every day, Mommy has limited our outdoor activity with the exception of swimming. Thank goodness for the pool at Grandma and Grandpap’s house! I have been doing well with swimming. I can swim under water and can go across the pool!

ABC book This past month I went to ABC Camp. It was great. I made a book with ABCs in it and it is one of my favorites to read each night. Often I fall asleep while reading. Also, I have started making my own bed. I decided I didn’t like the way the comforter was because the baseball field was upside down when I looked at it. So, I decided to turn it around. I also attended a camp at the church where my preschool is. I learned some Bible stories and was very excited to see my friends who I would be in school with in the fall. School starts in just a few weeks (August 30). And, guess who else is going to preschool? That’s right! Cara! She will be in the 18-month room and have the same teacher I did when I started. I wonder what Mommy will do with all of her free time?

hawaiian falls I also have been going to story time at train museum and we visited one of my favorite museums – The Frontiers of Flight. We went and saw Eddie Coker in concert at the mall. Another exciting adventure this month was a day at Hawaiian Falls with Grandma, my cousin Abbie, Aunt Beth, Cara and Mommy. I loved it! I rode the tallest slide I could go on … over and over and over. Even more fun was that Abbie and I got to spend the night together at Grandma’s house the night before!

I have been practicing my writing skills and am doing really well. I can sounds out some words and have started to recognize words. Charlie Brown is my new favorite. I quote from him regularly, mostly it is a “yes sir” (to my mom) along with a salute. I think Mommy may like that as much as Peppermint Patty does.

Cara in the fountains Cara is 21 months now. She pretty much copies everything I do. She is trying to jump and we love listening to her “sing” in her crib before she gets up. She loves being read to and likes to play sports with me. She likes watching Elmo on Sesame Street  and really enjoys the pool. Me and Daddy were in Target together and when we saw a pink and black baseball glove, we had to buy it for Cara! She likes to play catch in the backyard with us. I call her “Shortstop”! Cara is finally saying her name! Other things she says, “I do it.” “My turn.” “Don’t want this.” She communicates quite well and we all know when she is happy or not.

Check out some new videos of us! The one of Cara trying to jump is really fun!

Everyone seems to be traveling a lot this month but me. Grandma is on vacation in Canada right now, then she comes back and her and Grandpap leave for a wedding in Vermont and a visit in NY (my favorite!). I wonder if they will go see the Mets play? Daddy is traveling a lot too for work. His campaign is picking up! if you would like to donate to the campaign, please visit: http://electkless.com/give/

Many thanks to those who have already given!

Oh, very exciting news this month … we ended our 102-day reign as a one-car family. We bought a new Honda Pilot last weekend. Now we have two Pilots – (a Pilot and a co-pilot, ha ha ha!). Whenever Cara gets in the new one she says, “new car! New car!”

I hope the rest of your summer is a good one. I am looking forward to fall activities. School, church school and Mommy signed me up for tee ball!

xoxo,

Sean
