I am 57-months old today

first day 2010 Hello and happy almost end of summer! We are drying out down here in Texas thanks to the rain of Hermine! We made it through yet another summer and many, many, many days over 100 degrees. The rain is a welcome change from the heat, but BOTH prevent me from going outside and playing hockey, baseball or soccer!

first day - 2007 The last week we have been shifting from the summer schedule to the fall schedule. Pre-school started last week for me AND Cara! I am so excited for her and love that she has my same teacher that I did when I was in the 18-month room, Miss Lisa. It’s so cute, if you ask Cara who her teacher is, she says, “Leeeesa”! What a smart little girl. I am in the 4s class and I go Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. I have a couple friends from last year in my class – Merik and Aiden – as well as a friend from a couple years ago – Megan. So far, school is going well and I am getting used to “centers” and being the big kid hallway. Attached are my first day of school pictures from the last four years! WOW – I have been going to school for four years now! College is right around the corner.

I still get to spend one day a week with Grandma and she has some fun lined up for me. I am enrolled in a Kindermusik class and then I am going to be her helper at the library where she volunteers. It is at an elementary school! We also started “Church” school (aka Sunday school, CCD or Faith Formation) last week. This is my second year and I am in the PK4 class. The other exciting news is that I am playing “fall ball”, which is baseball! I moved up a league to be in “MCP6”. MCP – modified coach pitch – means that the coach will pitch instead of hitting off the tee. If I don’t get a hit after four pitches, then they will bring the tee out for me. Mommy wasn’t so sure about “playing up,” but I am ready and excited. My team is the RoughRiders and we practice once a week with games on the weekend. Mommy signed on to be the “team Mom”! She is very involved and loves the job.

The last few weeks of summer were spent at splash parks or playing with my friends. We also went to a couple of sporting events (surprise, surprise!). We went to a Texas Rangers game with Grandma, Grandpap, Aunt Beth, Uncle Rich and my cousin Abbie! That was so much fun.

MLS We also went to our first MLS match – FC Dallas vs Toronto FC. Our barber’s, and friend, son plays for Toronto. We tried to get a picture with Nick Garcia after the game, but he had to hurry to get on the team bus. Mr. Phil (our barber) got my soccer ball signed by Nick! That is pretty cool! Speaking of pretty cool, my Grandma and Grandpap were in NY for a week. While there, they went to a game at Yankee stadium (please note, I am a Mets fan!). Anyway, Grandma caught a foul ball at Yankee Stadium!! She is a magnet for flying sports equipment (she caught a puck at an Allen Americans’ game last year)!

labor day We spent Labor Day at Grandma and Grandpap’s house with my cousins. Grandma made the coolest cake for dessert. It looked like a swimming pool! We liked looking at it, but loved eating it. I love playing with my cousin. Abbie has us playing school. She is the teacher and tells us what to do.

Cara (22 months) continues to make us laugh! I can’t believe she is already in my school and we are getting ready to celebrate her second birthday. She talks so much and is learning her colors and shapes. She loves to color and play outside. It is amazing how much she learns. Sometimes when Mommy tells her she can’t do something, she’ll respond with an: “awww, man!” it is so cute. Yesterday, she ran over to Daddy to give him a kiss. She then put her arm around him and said, “hug!” And gave Daddy the biggest squeezy hug. Of course, we sometimes disagree on things, mostly on sharing toys. But, we seem to work it out, otherwise Mommy takes away the toy in question. Amazing how fast we can figure it out. Cara can climb to the second level of our playhouse outside and go down the slide by herself. It is amazing how much more she can do than a few months ago.

ranger game Between traveling for work and his campaign, Daddy is pretty busy. But, he always finds time to play legos with me, throw the ball outside (when it’s not 100 or raining!) or read to me. The next two months will be very focused on the campaign with debates and appearances. Please visit: www.ElectKless.com to learn more.

I hope you have a great September!

Love, Sean
