This is an excellent exchange between Ron Paul and Anthony Weiner on Medicare. When Weiner argues that Medicare has low overhead when compared to the private sector he is right, but he fails to mention that this is because Medicare is loaded with waste and fraud. The Government Accounting Office estimates that it is somewhere between 25 and 33 percent. This is not tolerated in the private sector because of the profit motive.
