I am 62-months old today

Hello all from the frozen tundra that is Dallas. Yes, you heard that imageright. Frozen. Tundra. In the last seven days, we have missed five days of school due to weather, mostly ice. We did have a nice day of snow where we actually got to go outside and play, but other than than, we have been locked up inside. Don’t worry though, I have certainly kept myself occupied. There is never a shortage of indoor hockey to be played or baseball/football/hockey guys to play with. I also have been playing the game Sorry with Mommy quite often. We both really like it!

imageSo, the Super Bowl was in Dallas last week and our favorite team – the Pittsburgh Steelers – made it to the game! They didn’t win, but we sure had lots of fun cheering them on. One awesome thing I got to do was go to the NFL Experience here in Dallas. As you can imagine, I loved it! We were there for five hours and I would have stayed longer. I loved running the plays and throwing footballs through tires. I actually got some in! Enjoy a play-by-play of my NFL Experience day.

Also this month, I got something really awesome – my library card! And, I checked out some chapter books that Mommy reads to me at night. Of course they are about sports – surprise, surprise! I do love reading (or being read to). I have been taking a phonics class a couple days a week and am reading simple books. It is pretty exciting the be recognizing words! School is going well. Mom and Dad had a conference with my teacher about me going to kindergarten. My teacher said that I am ready to go! (Mommy was a little disappointed as she says she is really going to miss me next year, but I am excited … sshhhhh, don’t tell Mommy!)

Baseball season is starting soon! I am playing with my coach from last season who moved to a different league. We are now called the Penguins and we start practice in a couple weeks. I sure hope the field thaws out! Mommy is the team mom and has been working on a team website and planning our team lunch. I have continued with my ice skating lessons – and Daddy has too! I am doing better and the coach said I have a “good center of gravity,” which given my gene pool, is quite amazing!

Cara – 27-months old – is doing great. She has a great imagination imageand loves playing with all my toys. She still sings all of the Christmas songs we learned and now can sing the whole ABC song. Of course, we really enjoy listening to her over the monitor when she is supposed to be sleeping – something Cara doesn’t much care for. She must be following in my footsteps! Cara is taking more Kindermusik with Grandma and she loves it. Recently, Cara started wearing her hair in pigtails, which means her hair is actually growing! image

Last week, we welcomed a new cousin – Jacob James – to our family! Daddy’s sister Eileen now has two children – Jessica and Jacob. He is so cute and tiny and I can’t wait to meet him!

happy valentine’s day and stay warm!
