Today I am 105-months old

Hello! And welcome to my blog. It’s been an exciting month for us. We wrapped up summer by trying to get as much fun as possible in the last two weeks! Cara participated in a gymnastics meet and I finished up with a pitching camp for baseball. We made it to the pool several more times and went for our annual visit to Hawaiian Falls. That’s always a fun time, mostly because cousin Emily and Grandma came with us! We had a great summer and now it’s time to go back to school.

I was very excited to get Mrs. Mistretta for 3rd grade. She likes sports as much as me! She is a huge Yankees fan, but that’s ok. I still like her. Cara has Mrs. Armentrout. She was pretty happy about that. Mrs. Armentrout’s daughters babysit us. One of our school’s traditions is the annual back to school parade a few days before school starts. Kids make signs to wave at their teachers who ride by in pick up trucks.

The first day of school was special. Cara started kindergarten, she was so excited! Grandma and Grandpap came up to see us off. Cara has liked kindergarten a lot and always comes home with lots of stories to tell. Cara response to her first day of school, “AWESOME!” And she said she made a friend. I like 3rd grade. We have started switching classes and have a main teacher who focuses on math and then I go to Mrs. Asif for reading and language arts. We use several online tools in school - SumDog, Edmodo and a flip-class textbook. So far, so good. We are getting used to the routine and having to get up early.

As for fun these days, I am back in baseball. Our team is the Hounds and we are playing all kid pitch. You can lead and steal in this league. Games have been fun. I have been playing 3rd base and left field. I am hoping that I will be able to pitch this season too.

Cara has continued on with gymnastics and cheerleading is in full swing. They had their first game last week and did really well. Mom is coaching the team with a couple other moms. Mom also is teaching Cara’s religious education class, which started this week.

We (well, at least me) are also super excited about the start of the NFL season.  I have my fantasy football league up and running, the SFL. It sure makes things fun! We have also enjoyed watching the Aggies play this season.

Grandma and Grandpap went on an amazing trip to North and South Dakota, Yellowstone, Jackson Hole and Utah. They saw some awesome sights. We missed them, but glad that they had a good time.

Well, that’s all from me. I hope you are well and we hope that it cools down soon here in Texas!

Love, Sean

P.S. Here’s a snapshot of me and Cara at this time in our lives and some of our most favorite things.
