I am 43 months-old today

swim lessons Well, alas, another month has passed. As you can imagine, it is HOT in Texas. I spend a lot of time in the swimming pool at Grandma’s house, at a splash park or anywhere else I can find water. Speaking of water, I finished a two-week intense swim class. I did pretty good and by the end of class I put my head under water and blew bubbles. I have been up to some other fun things too so far this summer. Mommy signed me up for Vacation Bible School (VBS). I really liked it. Mostly because my good buddies from preschool were in the class – Ella and Megan. My friend Travis, who I have known since we were six-months old was also in the class too. The week ended with a big production where we got up and sang a couple songs.

VBS week was rough for Mommy. She hit a parked car in the parking lot picking me up one day and our other car, “the fancy car” (note: that would be the 1997 Mazda 626) wouldn’t start without a jump and had to go in for repair, and wouldn’t you know Daddy was traveling when all this was happening. Lucky Mommy. I also did a month-long “Fun in the Sun” program with Grandma through parks and rec. I made several wonderful and keepable art projects. Mommy just doesn’t know what do to with all my “masterpieces.” If you have any ideas, please let her know. Grandma also has me in the summer library program and once again this summer I am going to read 600 minutes! I have about 120 minutes done – it is very fancy this year, we track it on line!

all star Mommy has me in Little Sluggers again. I really love playing baseball. I have decided that the field in my backyard is “Citi Field” where my beloved (although disappointing) Mets play. My good friend Chase is in Little Sluggers with me. I am doing well hitting off the tee and I now like to play where someone pitches to me. Grandma loves playing baseball with me too. It would be so much better if it wasn’t so darn hot. Oh well.

sean and cara 4th july The last month has been a great time for family fun! First, my Grandma’s childhood best friend came for a week-long visit! Every night was a fun gathering! Also, that same week was my cousin Abbie’s birthday! She turned 7! Father’s day was great fun – everyone came to our house for brunch and of course, some baseball! This last weekend was 4th of July! After going to a band concert on the 3rd, and two parades on the 4th, we headed to Grandma and Grandpap’s house for swimming and more fun – including sparklers. Now, I don’t know if you know or not, but I don’t like puppet shows or fireworks. So, 4th of July was a bit of an anxious holiday for me. I was constantly worried that I would see spontaneous fireworks somewhere. Luckily, I only saw a few on tv, and they were ok.

My sister is growing up “way too fast” according to Mommy. She is crawling everywhere. She loves getting under the table and playing. She also pulls herself up onto anything and moves around. She eats anything Mommy gives her – peas, cottage cheese, yogurt, squash, broccoli – anything. I think Mommy is worried that she will be an eater like me and is getting all of the good food in early! Although, I have been doing a lot better with food lately. Here is a video of Cara enjoying her food and crawling.

I am a “bit of a talker” – who knows where that came from … anyway, some interesting things I have been talking about lately include my “baseball store.” This is where I plan to knock down Dillards and build my store. I can describe to you in great detail what I plan to have in my store – batting gloves, pitching machines and Mets jerseys. I described this in great detail in Dillards last weekend – loudly and in great detail. As in people were staring at us and commenting. Nice. I also am learning about “financing.” I recently told Mommy that she could get some financing to buy me something I wanted. I also call my sister “cute” and “very bright.”

I would like to end with a request for a prayer for my Papa who is sick and in the hospital in New York. He is doing better, but it is a long road to go.

Hope you are having a wonderful summer.

Love, Sean
