Today I am 101-months old!
If we had to sum up the last month in one word, it would be “baseball!” I have played a lot of baseball the last month and with Cara playing softball, well, we spend a lot of time at the ol’ ball field!
My team is the Hounds and there are a few kids from my school who I play with. We are playing in two different leagues, one of which is a kid pitch league. That has been really fun and different. In this league, we can steal bases! I got to pitch one game and I really liked it.
School is going well. We have been learning about fractions and persuasive writing. A couple weeks ago I received the Marvelous Maverick award for my class! The note that my teacher wrote said, “Sean is Marvelous Maverick because he has been an amazing example of being trustworthy. Thank you for letting me count on you, Sean! Love, Mrs. Graham” It was an exciting day for all of us and Grandma and Grandpap came to school to see me receive the award. It was the end of a great week as my mom was also honored with the PTA Lifetime Membership award that same week!
We enjoyed our time together with family at Easter. We went to Mass and then to brunch with everyone. Of course our most favorite part is going to Grandma’s house for an Easter egg hunt! I always love time with my cousins. We topped off Easter Sunday with an Allen Americans hockey game!
Cara has been on the go as well. She has enjoyed outings to the Zoo and Arboretum with her friends. Her preschool just had their annual picnic and silent auction. Mom is wrapping up her tenure as president of Cara’s school parent board. Cara still loves the movie Frozen and spends a lot of time acting out different scenes from the movie. She recently got the Elsa hair wig and loves having the long blonde braid to add to her synthetic hair collection. Cara’s school is coming to a close and she attended a Kindergarten orientation at Marion this week. Look out Marion - She’s headed your way! Cara enjoyed her first softball season on the Dixie Sticks! If she could just learn not to throw the ball AT the base runner, I think we will have made some progress.
Tomorrow is my First Communion day! I am very excited! We are happy to have so many family members coming for my special day. My aunts from Pittsburgh arrived this week and Uncle Mike & Aunt Melinda will be coming up from Austin. We were able to have a part in the Mass and I wanted to be a lector. I am reading one of the intercessory prayers. I am sure Mom will have video of that for next month!
I hope you have a great May. We celebrated cousin Emily’s 7th birthday this week too! School is wrapping up and I am looking forward to a fun and relaxing summer.
Love, Sean
