I am 3 years, 1 month today!

Hello and Happy 2009!

I hope you are all well and the new year is off to a good start. As you can imagine, the last month was pretty busy. Christmas was so much fun this year! Our Christmas starts off the Sunday before with our annual family cookie decorating contest. I am pleased to report that this year the Kless family once again took home top prize! My Daddy won in the “over 7 division!” Daddy has been involved in the contest the last five years and has won three out of five years. You probably did not know that he was such an awesome cookie decorator!

On Christmas Eve, I helped Mommy make a lot of food for the various upcoming gatherings. I choose not to eat any of the food I make, but I do like cooking it. After all the cooking it was off to church where Cara was baby Jesus in the Christmas pageant. In return for her starring role, our family had front row reserved seats! (if you have ever been to a Catholic church on Christmas, you know what a perk that is!) Here’s a video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WZgVSQmT2Wo. Then it was off to Grandma and Grandpap’s house for the “present ‘pa looza!” I must have been very good this year. I received many wonderful gifts from my wonderful family, thank you all. Christmas morning was at our house, and you know what, Santa came there too! I did get the “toothbrush and toothpaste” that I asked Santa for plus a lot of another nice stuff from my parents. You can check out a video of Christmas morning here -http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ipcKrwmhuU. Everyone came to my house Christmas morning, so that was lots of fun. Christmas day was spent back at Grandma and Grandpap’s house playing the Wii with my super fun Uncle Mike and Aunt Melinda. (NOTE from Christine: We were in the car yesterday when Sean told me that his favorite color is blue and that he did not have blue sunglasses. He said, “I’ll have to talk to Santa about that!”)

December 26 was a very big day at our house. It is the day I started potty training. There has been much progress made and Mommy is thrilled to be lowering the usage of my diapers. She tracks “cost per diaper” and apparently I was running quite a bit over budget. I am doing pretty well with it.

Other exciting happenings include my Aunt Beth graduating from college! I wasn’t able to make the ceremony, but I definitely enjoyed the party afterwards. We also celebrated Aunt Beth’s birthday, Mommy made a great shrimp scampi, which I even had a bite of! We also enjoyed an afternoon at the Gaylord “ICE” exhibit. It was nine degrees and I got to wear a parka. Meema celebrated her birthday this month too. We did have our fair share of illness – I had pneumonia and Cara had RSV. We are all healthy now.

I also learned to recite numerous lines from “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”. If you give me a line, I most likely can give you the following lines. I do like that Grinch. Cara and I even had Grinch outfits – hers was “Cindy Lou Who, who was no more than two!”

My sister Cara is doing well. She is growing and eats a lot. She is a very happy baby and smiles all the time now. I love to say hi to her and rock her cradle. I am a BIG help! Mommy is back to work and I am back on my schedule. Grandma has already taken me to two movies this year! We are getting ready for our big family vacation to Hawaii in a few weeks. Daddy was invited as part of a rewards trip for his company and so off we go! I am mostly excited about the airplane ride, which I have been assured will be nice and long! Mom says if you have any tips on Hawaii (we are going to Kauai) or traveling with two kids to please email her!

Happy New Year!

Love, Sean
